Wilderness Adventures You Seek Tours - WAYS was created as a way to bring people to the beautiful mountains that we live in. Tracey and her husband moved to Canmore from Toronto in 2006. Their love of being outside and experiencing all there is to do in the mountains brought the idea of WAYS from a thought to a reality. As Moraine Lake is not accessible to personal vehicles and Lake Louise can be difficult to access as there is limited parking, it brings them great joy to offer this shuttle service so you can experience these two magnificent places stress-free!
SERVICE:
Our goal is to make sure you have the best possible time with us. All you need to do is sit back, relax and let us bring you to these two majestic lakes or lakes if you are on one of our private tours. Tips/gratuities are optional but if you feel your shuttle ambassador provided you with great service and a memorable experience, a token of appreciation is always welcome.
SHUTTLE AMBASSADORS:
Our drivers are friendly, knowledgeable and experienced. They are your go to person. Your guide is also versed in the area and will share a great deal of information with you. If you have any questions, always feel free to ask.
WILL IT BE TOO HARD:
NO! It will not be too hard. To access the rock pile, which is the best spot to see Moraine Lake from above, you will need to walk up approximately 40 steps in total (they are in sections so there is not 40 steps in a row!! Not difficult at all! My 81 year old mother did it with a couple of breaks). Sturdy footwear is a must! They are not even steps so please take extra care when going up and down. If you choose not to go up to the rock pile, you can still enjoy this majestic lake just steps from where we drop you off. Feel free to walk along the path around the lake and even rent a canoe to enjoy the lake from the water. Lake Louise is flat with wide pathways so no trouble there. You can also rent a canoe at Lake Louise.
FOOD/WATER:
There is a restaurant/snack bar at Moraine Lake and Lake Louise that you can visit. Always a good idea to bring snacks and water with you for the day. We will have some snacks for purchase in the shuttle. Please bring a water bottle if you can to cut down on single-use plastic, as we encourage that for all our ambassadors and guests.
TRANSPORTATION
You will be travelling in a 15 person passenger van. All you need to do is sit back and enjoy the ride and soak in the magnificent views.
WEATHER:
Our shuttles run RAIN OR SHINE from the beginning of June until Mid October. Although this is summer, we can have snow, particularly at higher elevations, in any month. Weather is unpredictable therefore you must be prepared. Temperatures range from 15-28 C (60 - 83 F) during the day and 5-10 C (40 - 50 F) in the evenings. Temperatures in September can be a lot cooler so please be prepared for this. Layers are recommended. Our shuttles will run rain or shine so it is always a good idea to bring a rain jacket. Rain does not diminish the majestic beauty of these special places. Sturdy, comfortable footwear is must.
WHAT TO BRING:
As you will be on the move a lot, we recommend you pack as lightly as possible. One bag with a day pack for hiking. Layers are always recommended when in the mountains as weather can change in a heartbeat. A waterproof rain jacket is a must both to keep the rain off and to keep you warm. A fleece is always great to have as well as a dry fit shirt of some kind as your bottom layer. A good pair of hiking boots or sturdy shoes are a must. A more extensive list will be sent to you upon booking.
LIABILITY/INSURANCE WAIVER:
You will be required to have health insurance to participate in our tours. You will also have to fill out a liability waiver. You will receive the waiver in your confirmation email.
